Old-fashioned Gingerbread (nothing says "fall" like the aroma of this baking in your kitchen!)

My mom makes this every year. I love the smell of this cooking and it so fun to make with her. I've enjoyed learning how to make it from her.

Gingerbread:
2 eggs,                            3/4 C. firmly packed brown sugar
3/4 C. light or dark molasses        3/4 C. vegetable oil
2-1/2 C. flour                 2 Tsp. soda,
1/2 tsp. baking powder  2 tsp. ground ginger
1-1/2 tsp. cinnamon        1/2 tsp. cloves
1/2 tsp. nutmeg              1 C. boiling water

Beat eggs with sugar until light and fluffy.  Add molasses and oil.  Mix well.
Sift together all dry ingredients.  Add to molasses mixture.  Mix well.
Stir in boiling water.  Pour into a greased and floured 13x9 baking pan.
Bake at 350 degrees for 30 min. or until tests done.  Cool.  Serve with topping.
